Muhammad Ali Jr. was asked about his religion while detained for two hours in a Florida airport Saturday. During his return home from Jamaica after a black history month event, Ali Jr. stated that he was profiled, pulled aside, and questioned because he is a Muslim and has an Arabic name. U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman Daniel Hetlage denied both accusations and stated that the agency does not discriminate on religion, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation. Ali Jr. and his mother are considering filing a lawsuit against the agency and have attributed their treatment to the president’s enhanced immigration enforcements.
